Sweet Creations Patisserie

A Las Vegas patisserie making mousse desserts, fruit-shaped desserts and celebration cakes, which started as desserts made for family and friends. We redesigned the store on Dawn with a Figma design, a preview menu and a Daily Drop box builder.

The brief they came with

Sweet Creations Patisserie makes mousse desserts, fruit-shaped desserts and celebration cakes in Las Vegas. The store already ran on Shopify, but it looked like a basic bakery site. The team was also getting ready to open a retail boutique on Las Vegas Blvd. They wanted a site closer to Desserts by Clement and Miam Patisserie: simple, visual and easy to browse on a phone.

The brief covered a Figma design first, then a Shopify rebuild of the homepage, menu, product pages, About, Contact and FAQ. The shop would come first and ordering second. The brief also included a Daily Drop box option and policies that fit perishable desserts.

The problem

The desserts looked like small pieces of art, but the website did not. A plain bakery layout undersold fruit-shaped mousse desserts and celebration cakes that people would come to the boutique to see.

Most customers browse on their phones, and the dessert images did not show well on mobile. If the photos do not stand out on a phone, the main reason to visit is lost.

The boutique was still under construction, with opening planned for August 2026. The old Contact page told visitors to text in orders. The team had decided not to take any orders until the shop opened, so anything that looked like a way to buy would cause confusion.

The policy pages used Shopify's default text. A generic refund policy does not work for perishable desserts, and the product pages had no allergen or storage information.

The team was also weighing Toast as their in-store POS and was unsure whether to stay on Shopify. They needed a site that looked premium now and could support preorders later without a rebuild.

What we built

  • 01 A Figma design built for phones We started in Figma, using Desserts by Clement and Miam Patisserie as the references the team liked. The team asked for an easy flow and photos that really stand out. The first mockup went over as a clickable prototype, so they could review layout, type and feel before any development began. We kept phones in mind from the start, since that is where most of their customers look at desserts.
  • 02 Homepage, About, Contact and FAQ on Dawn We built the new homepage on a duplicate of Dawn, then the About and Contact pages, all tuned for desktop, tablet and mobile. The homepage got an Instagram gallery section. The About page tells the brand's story, from making desserts for friends and family to a boutique patisserie. We added a FAQ page, a Celebration Cakes collection page and a mega menu. Collection templates now pull in whatever products are assigned in Shopify Admin.
  • 03 Product pages that read like a menu Product pages now list each dessert's components in a clean, structured format that keeps the team's wording. We wrote this up for 15 desserts, from Mango, Pistachio and Pomegranate to cakes like Strawberry-Basil Fusion and Chocolate Mandarin. Each page shows an allergen notice covering dairy, eggs, gluten, nuts and alcohol, plus storage guidance to keep refrigerated at or below 41°F and enjoy within 3 days.
  • 04 Coming soon mode before opening With the boutique still under construction, we turned off the cart, checkout, Add to Cart and preorders. We tested this on a duplicate of the live theme first. Product pages say "Coming Soon" instead of "Sold out". The menu became a preview across four categories: Classic Desserts, Fruit-Shaped Desserts, Celebration Cakes and Specialties. We replaced the refund policy with an all sales final policy and removed the Custom Orders page. The Contact page gained Visit Us, Employment Opportunities and Stay Connected sections.
  • 05 Daily Drop boxes chosen by size The team wanted a Daily Drop that helps with inventory, pickup and production. We built a Daily Drop page where customers pick a box size, choose the desserts to fill it, and add everything to the cart together. The order then goes through the normal checkout. Shopify Payments is active, so this flow is ready once the boutique opens and ordering is turned back on.
  • 06 Launch, real reviews and new desserts We published the new theme on July 18 after the team's final review. Their new headshot went onto the About page. The homepage reviews were placeholders, so we replaced them with reviews from the patisserie's Google listing. After launch we swapped in new product photos from their shoot. We also added six new desserts as unlisted products for the team to check: Peach, Mini Strawberry, Small Strawberry, Strawberry, Peanut and Green Apple.
