Satori Nero
satorinero.com ↗Satori Nero is a Canadian robe label based around Kelowna, with pieces like the Kuro robe. We built the store on Dawn with three tag-based collections, a square lookbook and per-product detail dropdowns.

The brief they came with
Satori Nero sells robes, with pieces named The Huntress, Pyrite Fairy and Cleopatra. When the project started, satorinero.com was a holding page on a GoDaddy domain, and the founder wanted it to stay as a "coming soon" page until the new store was ready. The team had photos, a written brief and a direction document. They wanted a finished store they could run themselves.
The brief ran in three milestones. First came foundation and brand direction, then a full site build with product upload, then QA, revisions and launch. It covered the homepage, collection and product pages, a lookbook, About, Contact and FAQ pages, a newsletter sign-up, shipping and payments.
The problem
There was no store yet. The domain showed a placeholder. The founder could not print business cards or send people anywhere until the site and a branded email were ready.
The catalogue needed a clear structure. Each robe belongs to one of three collections: The Feral Garden, Obsidian and Nero Antico. Shoppers needed to reach them from a Shop dropdown. Early on, product names and collection names got mixed up, and the footer showed products where collections should be.
The team wanted to edit each robe's details on their own. Every product needed its own dropdown content that could change without touching the others.
The look had to match the brand. The first gold accent and the title font did not feel right, so both needed to change.
Selling had to work for the right customers. The brand ships to Canada and the rest of the world but not the USA. They wanted one simple flat shipping rate and free delivery close to home in Kelowna and West Kelowna.
What we built
- 01 Foundation and brand direction on a preview theme We built on an unpublished preview theme so the team could review every page before anything went public. Milestone 1 covered the foundation and brand direction, using the team's photos and direction document. It was ready for review on 6 May 2026. After feedback we switched the large titles to Playfair Display. We also replaced the gold accent with a nude tone matched to a colour the founder picked in Canva.
- 02 Collection, product, lookbook and brand pages Next came the core pages: a collection page, the product page using the Kuro robe, and a lookbook. Then About, Contact and FAQ. The homepage hero slider now changes photos on its own. The lookbook uses a grid of square photos, modelled on a gallery page the founder shared. The mission, vision and brand statements sit on both the homepage and the About page.
- 03 Per-product dropdowns the team can edit Each robe has dropdown sections for its details. The content is set per product, so changing one robe's text leaves the others alone. We recorded a short video showing the team where to edit it in Shopify admin. A second video walked through collection content, so the founder could add new products herself. Contact form submissions go to the store email.
- 04 Three tag-based collections and a Shop dropdown We built The Feral Garden, Obsidian and Nero Antico as automated collections that fill by product tag. Adding the tag "Obsidian" to a robe puts it in Obsidian, and the same works for the other two. A Shop dropdown in the header lists all three collections. The footer Shop links now point to the collections instead of single products. We cleared out older duplicate collections so only the current ones remain.
- 05 Klaviyo, shipping, payments and policies We connected the newsletter sign-up to Klaviyo, so every subscriber lands in an "Email List" in the brand's account. For shipping we kept one flat rate for Canada and all international zones, and removed the USA zone entirely. Privacy, terms and refund policies are linked in the footer. We walked the founder through Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, Apple Pay and a test order. We also showed how Local Delivery can offer free delivery within 15 km.
- 06 Publishing the theme and going live We published the theme on 29 June 2026. The store stayed behind Shopify's password page until the full store address was added in admin. That step needed store owner access, and the site went live once it was done. We also held a call on setting up studio@satorinero.com through Google Workspace.
