The brand was running on GoDaddy's website builder, which gave them a storefront but not a commerce platform. We migrated the store to Shopify and built the new storefront from scratch on the Radiance theme, customising it end to end to match the brand's premium positioning. Products, collections, and content moved across with URL redirects staged before launch so search equity carried over. The result is a storefront the team can merchandise themselves, on a platform that has room to grow.
The brief
A premium jewelry brand selling meaningful, milestone-driven pieces was running on GoDaddy’s website builder. It worked as a website. It did not work as a store: the merchandising controls were thin, the theme system left little room for the brand’s aesthetic, and the platform had no real path to the apps and integrations the brand would need next.
They wanted two things at once. Move to Shopify, and come out the other side with a storefront that looked considered rather than templated.
What we did
We ran it as a migration and a build in the same project.
The migration moved products, collections, and content off GoDaddy onto Shopify, with the URL map staged before cutover so existing search equity carried across rather than resetting to zero. GoDaddy’s builder keeps its content in a structure that does not export cleanly, so the catalogue was rebuilt deliberately rather than dumped through a tool.
The storefront itself was built from scratch on the Radiance theme and customised throughout, typography, colour, section layout, and the product page structure, so the result reads as the brand rather than as a theme demo. The jewelry sits against a restrained palette that lets the product photography carry the page, which is the whole job on a category where the buyer is looking closely at the piece.
Why it mattered
Jewelry is a considered purchase with a high emotional weight, especially for a brand built around milestones. The storefront has to feel worth the price before the buyer even reads it, that’s the bar. Getting off a website builder and onto Shopify gave the brand both halves of that: a storefront that carries the positioning, and a platform where the next thing they need, reviews, email flows, a subscription, whatever it turns out to be, is an install rather than a rebuild.
